Domino Magazine is Back!!!

Well you would think it’s my birthday or an early Christmas present but the good news, the most amazing magazine, Domino Magazine, is back! I don’t know whether to jump for joy, do cartwheels or shout from the roof tops.  This is so exciting!

I was perusing the magazine isle yesterday and came across the Holiday 2013 issue and was thinking that it was another one-off issue with old content, then seeing on the cover “we’re back”…  I was intrigued… I’ve been so busy these days that I haven’t had the time to catch up on my favorite blogs to hear the buzz on the street… what was I thinking!

From what I’ve read online the approach this time around is different from the past.  After the magazine folded in 2009, I was just heart-broken, it was my favorite and I’ve really missed it since, the content was different from the other design magazines.  The new Domino will now be available only 4 times a year in print, no subscriptions and will now incorporate an e-commerce component.  Pretty smart on their part as we all know how many times we go on the hunt online for what we’ve seen in a magazine, so this is a win-win.  Have a look at the article from Tech Crunch listing the ins-and-outs of the background, pretty interesting.  Also see who is behind the good folks at the new Domino, including Michelle Adams, formerly part of the editorial team and started Lonny in 2009.

I see great things happening for Domino and congrats to all those that made it happen, we appreciate it, I appreciate it.  Stay tuned, an app is in the works to be released in six months.  If you already haven’t done so, race to the nearest newsstand and get yourself a copy.  Funny, I still have every issue from the old collection.
