luxxury livving is now My Style Republic
Hello everyone,
Yes, it’s true! We have a new name and a new look, isn’t it exciting!
I’m so happy to share with you all that we’ve rebranded (I guess that’s what you can call it). I’ve changed the name of my blog from “luxxury living” to “My Style Republic”. I felt it was time for a change to reflect all my passions in one place. My first passion in life will always be modern interiors and that’s a big focus of topic but I’m also interested in fashion, style, photography and so much more and I wanted not only the look and feel of the blog to reflect this change, but also a new name.
I was driving to work a few weeks ago and the thought occurred to me to change my blog name. I’m currently enrolled in a great blogging course and now have access to a great group of like-minded bloggers. In our Facebook group, I decided to simply pose the question to see what their thoughts and opinions were. I was actually quite surprised by their responses, aspects I really never thought of (which was the point of this exercise). One comment was that the spelling “luxxury livving” was hard to remember since it wasn’t traditionally spelled and that it may look spammy, here I thought I was being clever with the name, who knew! Also the main reason I was asking the question was that I was personally feeling like the blog “sounded” like it was only about the luxury lifestyle and really that’s not what I wanted my blog to be or is any way what I wanted to write about. When I came up with the name initially, I just thought it sounded swanky… but now seven years later it felt like it was time for a change. I’m so glad I dove right in and rebranded to My Style Republic.

I will tell you that it took a bit more time to do the entire transition than I thought it would. I’m always searching for new WordPress themes (yes I’m a geek and I love WordPress and searching for new and pretty themes) and I finally came across a theme I liked at the same time I made the decisiton to switch to My Style Republic, which I considered a sign from the Universe. Don’t you just love it when the Universe shows you what you are asking for. The initial task of cloning the blog was actually easier than I thought (I used ManageWP if you are interested). What ended up taking most of my time was setting up my new WordPress theme. After many support tickets and tinkering around night after night I finally got to a place where I could launch it, I was anxious and excited to launch it live. Now I have so much more I’d like to do, of course, but I have my love of blogging sparked and a lovely new modern look.

- Post, post and more posts. I plan to blog a lot more now that I have the freedom to write and gush about what I want to share.
- Dive into my blogging course. If you’re interested, check out Kate’s fabulous Secret Bloggers Bootcamp, it’s well worth it.
- Add more products to my curated shop. There are so many gorgeous products that I want to share with you.
- Fix older posts with updated products (lots of products may no longer be available) and just generally fixing the layout to fit this new blog theme.
- General tweaking of layouts, banners, images and making the site as cohesive and visually appealing as possible.
- and so much more!
I do hope you like all the hard work and love that has been put into this project.
