Does anyone else love abstract watercolor art? I know I do! The fluid movement and how the colors blend into one another is simply gorgeous. By adding pieces of art to your home décor is the perfect way to level-up your interior style.
At Minted, they have the most lovely collection of art from an array of talented artists. It’s pretty impressive how much art they have to choose from. So much so that I’ll be creating more posts to showcase my favorites, giving you more options to choose from and highlighting talented artists.
Artwork is such an easy way to add your own personal style to your interior design. Create groups of photos or add very large sized art prints for that added drama effect (my favorite).
Here is a selection of my current favorites. Mind you there are so many favorites to choose from, but here is four of them to get you started. I’ve added the artists thoughts and description of each art print to give you a bit of context from the artist. I do enjoy learning where their inspiration came from, adds a sprinkle of a personal story.
January – Garnet Art Print by Naomi Ernest
This collection also includes one for each month, find yours for the that special personal touch to your décor.
About the Work
This piece is part of a series created using a combination of ink and watercolor to juxtapose a rigid geometric shape with blended organic color. The process was originally inspired by a personal collaboration with my 4-year old daughter as we explored individual gemstones. I watched the relaxed and blithe way she chose colors and painted in easy swathes, resulting in beautiful and unexpected dimension. The entire series consists of 12 pieces based on the birthstones for each month.
The Mountain Side Art Print by Kelsey McNatt
About the Work
I currently live in Colorado and enjoy spending my weekends in the mountains getting inspired. This piece was derived from all the layers of nature that occurs in the mountains. The beauty of watercolor is the way you can layer the paint and let the piece have a mind of its own.
Pink Sky Over the Water Art Print by Renee Anne
About the Work
This is a reproduction of an original watercolour on paper. Inspired by a dramatic sky and waterscape this piece features a magenta pink and indigo blue abstract landscape. It would add a splash of colour to any room. My art is designed to inspire beloved moments and capture treasured memories for home and occasion.
About the Work
My latest adventures in painting often turn into clashes of water versus paint, seeking a truce between maintaining control and letting the paint loose. In this case, the reprieve resulted in an abstract landscape insinuating moody sweeping clouds blanketing a sleepy vista.
Well there you have it, a collection of four beautiful watercolor abstracts from Minted in hues of both soft pinks and dark pinks, purples, greys and some dark turquoise blue. Even one with real gold foil! Ah gold, another favorite of mine.
Which one is your favorite?
Enjoy and I hope you find the perfect piece to accessorize your home beautifully.
